Well, hopefully this won’t earn us an explicit tag in iTunes, but, finally, after a long real-life induced haitus (yes, I really do mean that this show doesn’t constitute full time employment!), the Geeks are back with a vengeance and reviewing the… odd? superhero movie that is…

Kick-Ass!!

Apr 20

The Geeks review John Cusack’s mid-life crisis 80s teen angst film.

I know that makes no sense, but I swear that’s really what it was.

Good afternoon!

The other day the Geeks got together to record our opinions of the new John Cusack vehicle, Hot Tub Time Machine.  Stay tuned to hear what we thought of it! I’m committing to having it posted tomorrow.

We’ll see how that goes.

I wanted to make a quick apology for the editing of Shutter Island. When I sat down to it I only had a very limited time. So I had to choose between a quick editing job and not getting it out for another week. So there are a couple parts where we have disconnects, particularly one where there are five seconds of utter silence towards the end. For this I apologize again. I’ll be able to take more time with it next episode!

We recorded this almost two weeks ago.. over two weeks ago?  I lost track.

Anyway, in this episode we talk about Shutter Island, Dennis Lehane’s creepy, twisty mystery, and how the film adaptation came out.

Mar 23

MGR #10 on Shutter Island will be recording tonight!  Look for it to be posted to the site in the next few days!

The Geeks take a look at the newest recreation, perhaps “revisioning” is a better word, of the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle classic detective.

And I’m re-affirming what I said on the show: if the remake of Jaws actually shows up, and it actually stinks, Eric and Keren can put pie in my face.  Actual pie.  And we’ll videocast it.  But nothing lemony or limey.  That’d sting.

Sorry for the delay, folks!  We recorded Sherlock Holmes last week but I haven’t had the time to do the editing yet.  It’ll be done  and posted soon, I promise!

In the meantime, in case you’re curious, our next movie is going to be “Shutter Island,” and we should be recording that in a week or so.

Stay tuned!

Jan 31

The Geeks talk about James Cameron’s billion dollar epic: Avatar.

Dec 18

The Geeks discuss the biographical movie about 2009 NFL rookie sensation Michael Oher, who would look much better in black and gold than he does in silly Ravens’ purple.  Blah. Anyway, it’s a good story and a good movie.
